Under Wich control were the states of swizzerland before the comming of the habsburger? Were they part of the holy roman empire?

May your kills be quick and many! Yes it was part od Holy Roman Empire-duchy of Swabia. But western parts(west of Luzern) in kingdom of Burgundy (older one, including Geneva, Provence, Savoie etc., and which became part of HRE definitely in 1158, not duchy of Burgundy)

For nations, see FAQ in General Discussion forum here or threads about it called "What netions can we play" or you can tell your favourites in "What nations do you wanna play?"

Sure are there as I remember: Poland, England, France, Hungary, Lithuania, Holy Roman Empire, Castile, Aragon, Byzantium, Scotland, Ireland, Bulgaria and many others.

I don't know what do you mean by "knights for sale" :( so I can't help you.

i sadly can not remember where i have read this, but there i was told that i would have to travel to a certain place to "buy" knights.
that might be untrue but that is what i was told...
