I wondered myself about the Line of Sight in this game. How will it be?

When will you see the enemy? When he's in your province? But offcourse, would that make sense? Did they always see the enemy's army moving in Medieval, even if it was marching on it's their own terrain? Maybe they first had to spot the army, by example when it attacked a village, or when it was spotted by scouts. So this is my question, when will you see enemy army's?

Greetings, Luca

We know that if you have a spy placed in another king's court then you'll be able to see all movement of that king's army in his realm, but whether this also applies to when his army is marching on your soil i don't recall.

When an enemy is in one of your realms he is spotted immediately. That makes sense because you can't hide a complete army.

In battle there is a more strict line of sight. Soldier's don't know what's behind a hill and can't look through buildings.

And what about the LoS when you're marching on ennemy territory with your army? How far away will you see ennemy armies then?

And is there any difference between LoS in allied and ennemy territory?

You will always see the whole realm.
Either the whole realm or nothing of it.

thanks for your reply angryminer! I appreciate it.

But I can't say I'm 100% satisfied with the result of how the LoS will work on the World Map, but I guess that's just the way the Devs have chosen to make this game. Though this forum is here to spread your opinion, and that's what I'm doing right now! How's with me? And who thinks the LoS is good as it is this way?

Yes, but still an army is quite difficult to hide on your enemy's soil don't you think. I am quite sure kings and rulers in medieval times had their sentries all over their land who reported all "unusual activities". ;)

P.S. I have Italian origin through my mother's side. Does this count? :p :silly:

Maybe you don't have to hide anybody. Send a fake message that an ally army is coming to help the nation and when you arrive you'll be treated like an allied army and then attack.

Me too.
What he says?

He means that if the enemy thinks you are an ally (because of the fake message) they wont bother much about you. And at the right time, you strike. Just like the Spanish did in Central-Amarica against the Aztecs.

Ah.
Yeah, that's a good tactic. I hope you can use it in KoH. But I think it will give you a bad Reputation and other countries will think twice before making an alliance with you :)
