Battles

How and where will battles be fought? In castles, open areas, forests, etc...or all of the above? Also, as in other games, will the peasants jsut stand idlely by or will they join the attack?:cheers:

Open areas, around castles, open forrests, but the peasants are supposed to flee the scene.:)

Yes , the battle map depends on where your armies meet in the strategic view, so you can even fight/defend river crossings as well.:D

I like the idea of attacking castles, ambush and all other stuff but will there be major battles in fields with a large amount of units charging at each other???

You go the official site and look in the screenshot section, there i'm sure you find some screenshots which shows some rather massive battles :go:

Ajup. Great battles like in Cossacks, siege battles like in Stronghold. KoH is gonna be the best RTS game since Age of Empires2 and Stronghold!!!! It is even like a mix of these! In my opinion it is a mix between, let me think, Stronghold (great castles, siege), Cossacks(great armies, can destroy buildings only with siege weapons) and Age of empires (The game will surly be as legendary as the AoE-series!!!)

Hopefully the battles will be with massive troops like in Cossacks 2 which the maximum is about 64,000 at a time.It would be more fun in battles with huge numbers instead of few formations fighting each other.

If you look at the screenshots; the battles aren't going to be anything like Cossacks or Cossacks II. This game is not meant to throw massive amounts of troops at each other. There will be quite a few units attacking though. It appears to me as if it will be similiar to AOE, but there will be a lot more troops that you can control during a battle. So, no, I don't believe the battles will be in such a large scale as the Cossacks series..:cheers:

I suppose they are from the spearmen-squad a bit above, maybe they went towards the archers or they are fleeing...

Elewyn, i think they are fleeing from the battle - otherwise they would walk (running) that way - also if you look at what they are "walking" away from it's quite obvious IMO that their fellow comrades are in the process of being slaughtered :eek:
