I wonder... what's the minimum requirement for this game? I did not see it anywhere.

For now, I got only an old Pentium III 600 with 256 megs of Ram and a Radeon 9200 video card. It's not enough for most new games, but still, LOTR : War of the Rings demo is perfectly playable on my computer even if they say the minimum requirement is a P800.

We cant confirm now, sorry:)

All I can confirm is that you won't need a 3D card...

I know it is not much more information...

We may have to disappoint you. We will support only 98SE and up. Microsoft does not support 98 anymore.

Not supporting means, we do not test it on 98 and give technical support. But it may run though....

You will find very cheap 98SE's on Ebay or so these days. But as far as I know, many games are not supporting 98 too.

thanx for your answer.
so there ist still a some hope it will run on win98.

my system runs perfect and you all know:
"never change a running system!"

btw: microsoft extended support for win98 and win98se after loads of user-protests. critical updates will be available for free until 2006. (i cannot find an english link, only a german one (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;DE;lifewin98))

Many DOS-games run under Linux (wine).
It's kind of irony - but it's true. The Linux-Community cares more about windows-support than Microsoft does :D .

I dont think that the requirement's will be that high, beacuse it's a sexy 2D game :D

I guess an 500Mhz AMD / Pentium with atleast 128mb ram (beacuse of the big map) will be just fine. But that is just a guess :P

But I am still a nobody, so dont listen to me

Most DOS games work fine for me with XP. With VDMSound I get sb16 emulation as well.

Actually, strange enough, most DOS games works better for me in XP than it does in Win9X. And it works A LOT better in XP than in 2000.

hmm but win98 is based on dos, so you can start your computer in real dos - almost every dos-game works in dos - apart from the games which requires a vesa-graphic-driver. (there are no vesa drivers for state od the art graphic cards)

whats vdm sound?

You get lot of memory problems trying to play old dos games under Win98. Even if you restart the computer in dos only.

Yeah, the memory problems. I found it easier to get rid of them in Windows XP. I've had no problems with VESA really with my Nvidia and ATi cards.

VDMsound is an application that emulates soundblaster 16 (And perhaps some other soundcards). So you can get sound from you DOS-games in Windows.
