Hello people,
I think I haven't posted here for the past 5 months!!!
Exams, work, friends kept me quite occupated...

Well, I don't know if anyone have asked already but will there be a limitation of people in the kingdom???

Like, e.g. in Age of Empires you are not alowed to have more than 200 people living in your kingdom.

limits are per province and seem to be quite high. No limits like in Age of Empires :)

Actually, there is a limitation.
You can upgrade towns in 12 levels. The higher the level, the higher the possible population.
But I guess you will never come to the point where you own nearly all of europe and have all towns on level 12, so I wouldn't bother with that ;) .

If you mean the maximum amount of soldiers:
It's computed fairly easy.
You have 9 Marshalls who can lead armies.
Each of them can command up to 9 squads of units.
Each unit consists of about 30 soldiers. That results in 2430 soldiers.

Please note that 30 is a fairly conservative number. 40 may be more appropiate.

One knight can lead nine squads.
A knight is called 'Marshall' when he leads an army.
You can have up to 9 knights.
That means you can have 9 marshalls.
Each marshall leads a seperate army.

@agryminer

but does this mean that you have a max of 9 army's who are able to fight in entire europe??????

Yes.
That's more than you need.
Please note that the other areas aren't defenseless. You have defensive buildings and ( propably lots of ) townguards, which are one of the strongest units in KoH.

i understand, but still i think it would be nice to have a little more army's to command so you're able to react a bit quicker to little rebellions in the country and other things like that

The devs said that they seldomly needed more than 5 active armies in a game. So I guess nine is enough.

@agryminer

but you are able to garrison army units in castles and such without having a marshall to lead them????
:confused:

These units are called townguards and yes, they are strong enough to defeat a normal army.

@agryminer

just checking but town guards are the only units that you can garrison in a castle without a marshal??? so no archers ans such on the walls without a marshall?????

Seems so. I also noticed this 'flaw'.

But Frank or Frujin somewhere said, that you can also have some squads of other units in your city. They simply can't walk trough the relam. They stay at the town since a marshal comes and pick them up. So it's possible to have archers on the wall when no marshal is there...:)

That must have passed me... Do you still know the thread?

no :D
but i think, i do remember this too.
of course it would be weird not to be able to garrison a town with e.g. archers - imagine of beeing ruler of a huge kingdom with 10 or more realms.
