Hi, all.

One day some kinda news came across to me that informed
Knights of Honor is on develop will be released in the spring of
this year. And of course, they showed me screenshots too.

At the moment, I was thinking whoahoo! this one really rocks!
Shots were really great, the interface is exactly I want to play on.

After some days passed on, BlackStudio said that will be released
on someday in Summer!
I went *figure* by myself they're not joking and finally, comfirmed.
However still thought it's OK since the game looks great.

A couple of month later, they got another *great* news that
KoH postponed its release date to autumn. sigh...
Amazingly, they showed some new screenshots and explained
that KoH is on mass develop!! surprise!! Check out E3 stuffs too!!

Some folks say "hey, that's a lame excuse to avoid being
condemned about postpone" mean while some are saying "wow!
KoH looks better than ever!"
For me? still lament....

Listen, Sunflowers or BlackStudio guys or whatever who's
relative. You say autumn. Then usally, autumn got pretty wide
range dates from Sep 1 to Nov 31. It might vary where you're
located in.

Think release on 1st of Sep and 31st of Nov is pretty dam*
different between 'em. Don't you think so?
What if the release date is gonna be on Nov 31? They can
*STILL* say it's autumn thou~. So you agree with this?

Oh, c'mon guys! it's winter thou!

I think it's about time to ask 'em which *DATE* it will be exactly
released.

No hidden screenshots or massive development! We're not
14-year-old kids and won't buy what you said! All I want is to
know the release date. That's all.

No offense. ;)

I like KoH as much as you guys do. So I can write this. Right?

Keep it cool.

sorry, mate, but this is happening normally. You want to finnish your work by some time. But during testing you find something that must be fixed or added or removed and replaced by something else. And it takes time.
The other solution is not to care of that, release the game as they promissed originally, but with some bugs, maybe some veryimportant bugs that only were found month before promissed release and fixing them would take 2weeks and testing another 3 so it would have postponed the promissed release by one week.

People like you will get angry again, but I will be happy because the game will be withuot that bug.

That's why they don't announce certain date, because what if they will find something in the beggining of septembre?

so, calm down and wait with us

I'll agree Elewyn :) - the game is done when it's done......we have seen so many examples of game which are rushed through the production stage and then the devs don't have time to do a proper bug hunt which means that they have to release patch after patch after patch after patch in order to get it to work - so if they'll have to prospone the release because they want to have time to bug hunt and finishing minor details then IMO they are most welcome to do so, because all that really matters is the end resault.

We said only Q2 - 2004, never Summer.

Now that we found a publisher (EA) we committed to release in Autumn.

An exact date will be announced soon.

I don't know exactly the realease date... but November 31st seems very difficult for me!

They would be wizards if they do that.
Well, maybe they are....

Anyway, I totally agry with Henrik.
This of making games is like cooking. Rush it and it's spoiled. Leave in the oven for a slow cooking and you'll have a well-done meal that justifies the wait.

Don't worry guys with EA the game will be better. Little patience for the game but we need to play the demo until the game comes out so we don't get more bored.

This thread is just another example of the peasents becoming unruly. Soon, one of the "Knights" of the forum will splinter off and go ransacking through Europe, only stopping when he drives up to a pub.

It ****s ofcourse when you're in fact waiting for a game to come out and then the release date is changed. But in this case I don't really care, because this game had a quite large community even when it was in it's very early stages, and that community has an opinion. What I really like is that the dev's really listen to the community. For example, a lot of people were asking for more units. Well, they recently gave us twice as much units. If the game had to be released in the spring, as they first said, this would never have happened.

I agree that it is about time for some more movies, or even a demo. The movies they put on today are worthless...

A demo should come up in June like other games do they release a demo several months before the game is out. If they release a demo in August then what's the point of playing it when the game comes few weeks later.

WHAT DID YOU SAY???

No lad, that isn't reason to be happy and think that the game will be better!
That bothers me a little, I actually know two games that were released too early because of the contract made with EA and so they were spoiled!
I'm talking about the RPGs Ultima VIII and Ultima IX!
They would have been EXCELLENT (with capitals) games. I was following the developing of UIX as now I'm following KOH's and that game really promised! An beautiful 3D world, so incredibly animated and real. And people were very anxious about it, just like today we are with KOH. But release dates were to be respected (they had been postponed a few times but finally they couldn't be postponed anymore) and both games were finished in a hurry, came out not only with a lot of bugs but some things were a little "raw". And it doesn't feel good when you play a "half-done" game, imagine eating a "half-cooked" food. Specially when you have been so anxious about it.

Trust me! Is not good when they release a game too soon!
Let them work and don't hurry them too much please!
Or you'll may end dissappointed.
And if you want a nearer example, not only in time but also in game genre, ask people about Lord of the Realms 3. Only that in that case contract wasn't with EA but with Vivendi.

SO, TAKE ALL THE TIME YOU NEED! MAKE THIS GAME ROCK AS IT PROMISES!

very same.

So.. guys! stop researching archaeology!! you know what?
Even though you talk about Velkomoravska or Habsburger
whatever... they won't come up as long as Mr. Bush bushes on
his own fence!

Oops...? am I too political here?

You better know, the more you dig into history, the more girls
will leave you cuz gals hate all kinds of historians in the Universe!

About KoH's release date:
This game isn't a game for everyone. It doesn't have the publicity nor the fancy graphics of Rome:Total War.
So the game's target has to be quality.
KoH won't bring in any money if it doesn't beat any other game of this genre in quality.
You can't hurry quality...
Just my two cents.

I think the Royal court at BSS know what there doing, and they will release the game when its finished, and as bug free as possible.
Which is what we all want isn't it?.

And I agree with everyone thats willing to wait.
