What about those covers? i Don't know what they are called but archers hide behind them during a siege and then they pop out and shoot arrows at the people on the walls.

archers and other infantry hide in the siege towers and rams. usually rams have roof and the infantry that is under it push the ram :)

a trebuchet is a big 'slingshot' that fires rocks (or cows :D ) over a great distance, causing havoc on walls and buildings...

they were also in AOK....

Actualy cows was fired over walls back in time under town/castel siges.
More presicely dead animals that had start roting was fired over the walls into the towns, where there decaying bodies would spread diseases among the defenders and thereby lowering there defensive capabilities.

nice tactic,

a bit dirty, but could be a very cheap and effective way to conquer a town/castle. then again, you'd have to live in that town/castle yourself wouldnt you? think of all the germs....:D

yes indeed....so what´s the use then of conquering the town..

Well a dead enemy is a enemy you don't have to kill with your soldiers so if a dead cow or chiken thats rotting can kill him why not.
Besides the germ was first discovered in the 19's centory as far as i rember.
So they did't think much of higine, all they knew was that it worked.
Besides you can just hire a man for a pice of bread, when the town have been captured to pull the dead animals out of the town and harms way.

but what's the use of killing the villagers....you need them to work for you in the end...so spreading deseases is not very tactical.....and not very nice.....
