My spies never can infiltrate

Hiya,

My spies never, and I mean never, manage to infiltrate other kingdoms when I tell them to. I had one spy attempting to infiltrate for like half an hour, and it never succeeded.

I have sent out spies first thing at the very beginning of the game, and I've sent them out later, and no luck either way.

Anyone know what I am probably doing wrong?

1. Marry a princess into the court you want to infiltrate. It helps.
2. Infiltration takes time. The spy only tries to infiltrate when the particular kingdom hires a new knight.

Well one thing you can do to help get him hired is to gift the country a large sum of gold, so they have the money to hire him!

Yup, educating my spies seemed to do the trick in my last game, after all.

one good thing to also do is spy on a country that is in a big war. they have to get a lot of new marshalls and your spy will always get picked up.

playing as normandy this weekend i had 2 spies become puppet king. completely handed over munster and germany, which had about 12 provinces.
