Tax Income always Negligible?

In every game I've played so far, my tax income has been negligible. At the beginning of the game, its like one ducat. Once I've got going, so my income is in the 200 ducat range, the tax income is just like 20 ducats. For this reason, I always just turn taxes down to zero.

Is there something I'm missing?

Historicaly I believe this would have been the case. People of Europe during the Middle Ages just didn't have a whole lot of money. So therefore the taxes would not bring in much.

You`re not missing anything,its just how the game is made economy centred around trade which wasn`t the exact case but...
When i got +600 income i have max around 30,40 from taxes!

to Largefry07 i don`t agree with you if taxation wasn`t profitable they would have tought for different kind of thing to take from the pop.
