Question: Maximum Resolution

What is the maximum resolution for KoH? I know the minimum resolution is 1024x768. I have a large monitor and at 1024x768 graphics are grainy and jagged. Does anyone know if KoH will support 1600x1200?

Although remember the larger your resolution the higher the drain on your system resources. At 1600x1200 the performance of the game might suffer. Personally I think that 1280x1024 would be plenty, even for a 19''+ sized monitor.

My trusty 17'' CRT starts getting a bit hassled at 1152x864 when playing games.

Not good I play all my games at 1260x1024 when possible as it looks best on my monitor :nono:

Oh...well, that's bad.
I assumed a game like KoH having scalable graphics, so that different resolutions were possible.
Unfortunately, 1024x768 looks rather poor on my 17" TFT... ;(

1024 X 768 Doesn't have to look bad! It really depends on the quality of the graphics. Also I usually find that 2d games are more forgiving resolution wise then 3d graphics. Plus they don't age as quickly. Take a 4 year old 3D title and a 2D one chances are good that the 2D is looking better now compared to today's standards.

Hopefully the crazy tech race will come to an end someday and people will have to make most of the hardware available. Console games look much better then games on PC's with the same specifications. Which is quite sad. (Although i do understand that with all the different system configurations its harder to focus)

About the 1024 x 768 resolution of Knights of honor, i'm not worried at all about the graphics quality. Looking at the moving pic from the waterfall the quality is just GREAT! Very detailed and really nice to the eyes. And ingame it will still look quite a bit better.

This game will look very good! It might not sport the latest and hottest techs in the graphics industry like the pixelshader 3.0.... but really those are not needed for beautiful graphics! Its all in peoples minds.

That said the gameplay is what will make Knights of honor great! Sure a game like... ehm DOOM 3 might break graphical boundaries where KoH does not. But i'm sure the gameplay of KoH will by far outdistance the gameplay that Doom 3 has to offer. (On the side i think that Doom 3 is nothing more that a glorified graphics engine with a silly thin story attached, and i'll not touch that rubbish with a bargepole)

Gameplay over graphics always, in mine point of view.

the best FPS game of the last 8 years is STILL a tie between Unreal and Half Life. the Star Wars based ones focus too much on action. Doom and Quake.. "Okay, get a gun.. go over there... and shoot everyone" yep... great fun... :nono:

I think it wold be best that you could change the resoliution which is best to you. It should be 800x600 + ....... :hello:

I would hope to at least have an option to select the best resolution. Cossacks was a 2D game that provided every resolution possible. My monitor only supports 640x480, 800x600, 1024x786 and 1600x1200. I have an AMD 3200 Barton, ATI 9800xt, etc. I'm not looking for state-of-the-art graphics but I don't want bad graphics. Any game, at 1024x768, on my monitor looks grainy and jagged.

Just give us the option.

I'd say Viet-cong and Deus ex (though some would say it's RPG rather than FPs) beats the living **** out of both HL and Unreal. Doom 3 is kind of dull though, but it's probably the best graphics we'll see in a while.

Increase the resolution cap, it is far too low. I find it difficult to get a good view of the battle and since it is a 2D game i cant zoom out or adjust the view to make it more comfortable.
