Zoom out Battlefield

Is there anyway to see more of the battlefield in one screen. It is hard for me to even tell who my archers and catapults are firing at. Also I do not see the enemy until they are right on top of me.

No you can't zoom out, I know it get's a bit annoying, for me selecting units can become frustrating. Use the mini-map it helps.
