Infantry: Byzantine Varangians
Cavalry: Feudal Knights
Ranged: Longbows
Siege: Ballista

The Varangians are great - combined with Roman Infantry and Cataphracts, the Black Sea can be yours!

Infantry: Teutonic Knights
Cavalry: Feudal Knights
Ranged: Longbowmen
Siege: Meh, two trebuchets to tear down the gate is all I need.

The price of such an army is only surpassed by it's strenght.

Infantry: Varagnians or Templars (Crusader Infantry (if availible)) but I don't use too much infantry since I prefer fast experienced army
Cavalry: Steppe Cavalry (Crusader Cavalry (if availible))
Ranged: Steppe Cavalry (Longbowmen actually but since I prefer fast army I choose Steppe Cavalry)
Siege: Don't use them at all. Used only when I sieged Rome for it's the AI city with the best wall defences and I hired them from Venice (best territory for me) and dissmissed them after my conquer.

The best army for me is formed of (if playing for quick and suprising sieges) 3 squad Steppe Cavalry, 2 squads Feudal Knights (Crusader Cavalry (I keep repeating myself but for newbies.. ) if possible), 1 squad Hobilars and 2 squads Mongol Cavalry;(if playing for you wanna a piece a me - come and get it!). 3 squads Feudal Knights or Crusader Cavalry (if possible), 2 squads Cathaphracts (o boy! o boy! o boy! ), and 3 squads Steppe Cavalry.
And if I want to have fun and lead a battle in the open field, Lots I MEAN LOTS of Longbowmen and Crosbowmen (Heavy) and (of course :go: ) Steppe Cavalry. I find a higher plave on the battlefield, place all my army up there and wait for the enemy to suicide.

P.S. I don't care for casualties. I just want to experience my squads no matter what. I just refill them after the battle (cuz I'm rich :king: ).
P.S.S. My post is a little bit off-topic for which I'm sorry.
P.S.S.S. Sorry I just couldn't stop myself - I wanted to see how would 3 S-es look like. :silly:
