I am Turk and I like rts game.
When I saw KoH I like it.
Because I like History.
for that reason, Turk's unit Akyndji not footman, their use swords, horse (anyway a lot horses).
Akyndji similar special forces at the Ottoman feudal system, when the war begining ,they are at first to enter enemy country and collect knowledge about enemy army and land after appropriate time to raid, ambush and attack enemy army. They are live border of country.

Other Turk's unit of AZAP, footman and use spear not armoured, they are collected from town and fighting together main army.

I haven't know enough english.

we have discussed this issue "long" time ago and we agree with you (e.g. here. (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=1061)). akindji are mounted units.

but i dont think it will be changed since it wasnt changed then.
(but if it helps you: christian europes most famous knights also got rid of their horses - templars, teutonic knights :silly: )

other foot unit found when Ottoman emperorwe know that Turks were mostly mounted (and they should be in the game also). Timurlenk just said that christian most famous units-mounted knights- Templars and Teutonic knights, are on foot in the game too.

I guess they all should ride horses :)

I think the main problem is with the fact the divided axe and polearm unit from the rest of the infatnry which created need for some additional units which then created problem with Jinetes(actually Riders in spanish) and Akindji which we all agree that they were defintaly light Turkish(Ottoman) cavalry.

It would be better if they added Almogavars as I suggested since they can be regarded as some sort of polearm unit although they threw their javelins and spears at their opponents and then attacked them with long knieves.
