View Full Version : Raiding seems odd...

My impressions from the demo is that the knight ALWAYS gets exactly the same amount of money by raiding any settlement.

If that decision is purely a game balancing decision, then it is fine, but it certianly is not realistic.

Raiding a monastery should yield books, and little money, imo. Raiding farms should yeild food and no money. Raiding coastal villages, or castles should yield money and food.

Anyway, its only a small detail, but perhaps there should be a pre-game setup option for tweaking this?

What I think is the most irritating is that the only way to stop raiding a village without waiting for the endless time it takes to raid, runs out, is to flee. It should be possible to stop the raiding without destroying the village completely (as that is very time consuming), and without having to suffer morale loss.

@ King Yngvar:
why even starting a raid then? Don't start one if you don't want to finish it

There is a Knights skill Enforcer, which makes speed of looting and the spoil much higher. Also, the amount is not the same. General rule: plunder villages, wich "appear" wealthier on the map :)

Because I want to get supplies, not waste time destroying a village.

there is no meaning with raiding a village if your gonna conquer the land ;)

There could be options for pillage and plunder, but raiding is ok to me.

Also, I raid before I conquer, just to get some spending money... is that, eh, "wrong"? :)

Also, I think that the word "flee" should be replaced with "retreat".

I just raid to boost experience.

I feel bad plundering. I know it's only pixels, but still... :(

If your going to take over an enemy country , its fun to get him riled up by first sacking several churches and villages (plus , once you occupy his main town , you can buy reins ASAP)
