I can't help noticing all the different designs of keep that we keep seeing. Do we really get them all? What do they all symbolise? Which faction you're playing? Size of the castle? Time period? Or is it that you can chose yourself, whenever you build a new castle? I simply must say that I'm impressed by all of them. They're so realistic! Just one other thing: Are their bases all the same size and shape, or do they vary?

With keeps you mean the citadels ? Yes, all will be in the game you saw on the shots.

can you man the walls (people running around the place shooting and stuff) or is it like in age of kings (you put guys inside and the castle shoots arrows)?

Yes you can have Archers on the walls and towers. You can also have catapults or balistas on the towers from what i have heard.

And yes, it is not like in AOK. You see the soldiers on top of the walls and towers, also on them of the citadel.

Thats a good Question. I think you can i am not sure thought. It would be cool thought having archers that have been shot by an arrow fall over the wall and into the moat

You can build moats. I saw them on some pictures, and Frank said that you could. Can't find the thread, though. One thing that I hope for, though, is that you have both water-filled moats as well as empty ditches. I haven't ever played a castle game with ditches.

Frujin said it here is the link to the post

But it ain't much else but a confirmation that moats do exists.

For proof of moats you may want to look at this screen shot
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/knightsofhonor/screens_6076427.html?page=14
It showes 2 towns , the towns have no moats but the castel within the town have water filled moats.;)

How dynamic is the world view? The graphics look hand-drawn. Can you start with an empty field, then build a small fort and then upgrade it to a castle or city?

I think it's something along these lines.
The world as it starts have all it's regions set from the start
Each region have a main town, like London.
Around London= the region of London, there is the room for small settelments, that have different features look at link 1.
And you will see 3 different settelments
A harbor for trade and moving armies with ships
Grain farms that provides you with food
A settelment with a horse shoe over it, it probaly produce horses for your cavalary
On link 2 you can see
A stone quarry that provides your kingdom with stones to build buildings ( a tough one )
On link 3 you can see
Several settelments that all produces gold coins.
Some that produces lumber other that produces weapons
All showes have many they produces.

So by now you should have got the basic idear 1 main town with some minor settelments that produces different items or services. All that together makes a province.
Each province have a sertain amount of "spots" where you can place harbors grain, farms, lumber camps and so one, when there ain't any more room you can't place any more minor settlements and that province then produces what the minor settelments and the main town provides.
Hmm guess i got off topic by now.
But that in answear yto your question means no you can't jsut take a empty fild build a small settelment there and upgrade it to a city (if city=main town of the province)

But rember it's only a guess so i might not be right.

That was my 2 cent's

Edited
If you wanna know more i gave some extra guessing in this post

Now that's what you call a good summary!!!

Nice work!!! Don't have the time now to look into it...to see if I think the same...but read it globally.....and it seems ok!!!

Thanks for the explaination. I think that was as comprehensive as you could get.
