I dont think you can marry him anymore with a foreign lady, hell marry a women from the population. You have to get him married before your king dies.

I was playing as Norway and I married my prince, or rather new king to a Finnish princess, so I think you can marry a princ or a king off much in the same way as you would a princess.

I guess you automatically get married with a local chick if you can't find a foreign princess. I myself, never succeeded to marrie a princess ... perhaps it has something to do with my looks ??? Who knows ...

To marry, you

1. Go to the political map (sorry, not at home, I'm not sure the of the name) and click on the second icon with two kings on it. This will show you relations. Look for a kingdom that has a crown on it--Prince crown if you are marrying a daughter, princess crown if you are marrying a son or your king.

2. Open an audience with that kingdom and get good stance with it: Open trade, sign non-aggression pact, give them money, whatever it takes.

3. Ask for a royal wedding. They'll ask: who? Click on the name of the prince/king you want to marry off. They'll ask who do you want to marry? Then you'll see a list of marrigeable offspring. Choose one. If they agree, you're married. Congratulations! If not, they'll call you pond scum for suggesting such a thing!

That's somethign else that needs to be tweaked, I think. If we're allowed a choice, then there should be some reason to pick one over another other than one princess looks hotter than the other. :) We should be able to see some stats, perhaps a penalty involved if we don't pick the elder one (It was disdained upon for a younger sibling to marry before the elder did), etc.

As long as you keep him in the castle and not running around as a Marshall or Merchant (keep him off your Royal Court), he and the Queen will do what Kings and Queens normally do. Children will usually come along in time, though sometimes it does happen, like in real life, where a couple will go childless.

I'm pretty sure that even if your married king (successor) has an office (merchant for example) he will make children. Sometimes you can get the message that the prince is not fertile and cannot have kids.
I've never seen the original king have more kids than the ones you start with.
I also try to marry my prince as soon as my country has some power or $$$ and before the king dies.
If you are a weak country noone wants to marry your prince.
