Those little dots

When looking at the map of Europe usually in the corner or the KoH screens there are these little dots on them. Do they represent towns or something?

Yea, i think it show towns castles troops, cause there are so many of them in one place. I hope a mod could tell us.

Oh right Minimap that's what you call it. Yes those are the ones.

The dots are at the moment castles and armies. But it wont stay as it is now. There will be more shown and it will look different, depending on the zoom level and switched on filter.
