I've played Early Zenata for 2-3 hours and want to share some first impressions
of the North American release, and ask for some advice.

What a relief it is to be able to save a game. It is also nice to have a Spy and a
Cleric.

I naturally tend to the "build your economy patiently/steamroller the planet" style
which seems to work nicely in this game. I am quite fortunate in getting along
very well with Cordoba. I have built a base on "my half" of Africa and I am starting
to invade (modern day) France with Cordoba and the phoenix-like Zirids.

I have decided to convert all these heretic Christians to the Muslim Faith.. and I am
a little suprised that the Papacy and Austria (in the location of the HRE) are trying to
get trade agreements with me. I am picking on despised Christian nations and
politically being nice. This leads to two unexpected questions (hard setting)
1 There appears to be *no* penalty for declaring war/being generally aggressive
if the forms are observed, I would have thought that overmuch ambition would tend
to make neutrals dislike you, especially on hard.
2 Converting a province to your faith probably should have *some* impact on the
adherents of the previous religion. Conversion appears to be diplomatically
neutral.

I had set autosave to 15 minutes. A good thing to have because KoH Crashed to
Desktop once. I really have no idea what triggered it. I had just attacked the
only Spanish province (near Tunis) and was beginning to lose when WHAM!
I put that misfortune to good use because the autosave was far enough back that
I could put the proper resources on the taking of the Spanish.
3 What do I do to report a CTD to BSS/the forum for consideration in any future
patch or in KoH2? Can I run KoH in a way to better gather information if I do
figure out how to reproduce the problem?

I have just been invited by my ally Cordoba to romp and stomp on Pomerania
and Wessex. I can't wait for my next session. Thank you for a fine game.

nice. Could you give us some screenshots? it would be perfect them :go:
1-there is no general penalty. But sometimes when you declare war your kingdom power decreases (depending on relations you have or if you have marriage with them).

2-yes, should, but doesn't
3 I didn't get the point of it. No 2nd patch was planned when there was no plan to american release. But we all hope that NA release will change some things...

Good luck in your campaign against Wessex and Pomerania. Take over all those christian infidels :go:

I work in software. Reporting bugs is what I do. It doesn't really matter to me if it appears
to be futile now. Maybe there will be a patch. Maybe there will be a workaround. Maybe
there won't be. I won't know unless I report my problem. It's the way the world works. :-)

report bugs here. There are several threads about patch, so post there

No, there is no "verbose" or "debug" mode that I know of. But at least in my case KoH runs fine for over 10 hours straight.
Yes, Elvain is right, any ideas are appretiated, though no one knows if there will be a new patch.

Me too! I'm a System Test Lead.

And I've had frequent CTDs over the past week with KoH. I reported my crashes in the Technical Help forum (http://forum.sunflowers.de/forumdisplay.php?f=17) and included a DirectX Diagnosis report. No response as of yet...

Ah, I did not install the DirectX provided with KoH, I figured that XP Home Edition would
be more current. Perhaps I need to dig into that.

Okay, for any who avoided the obvious (as I did) the thread in the technical help forum
engimatically named "Support" has simple clear instructions, the very sort I was looking
for. Where's that little head-banging icon when you need it (under Go Advanced, I'm
just being lazy).
