How do you unite provinces?

i heared a few poeple talking about it, that you can make other provinces (factions) join you, but how do you do this.?

There a a number of ways
1: (My fav one) Attack the town in the province and win.
2: Marry and wait for the king to die. If there is no prince in line you will be given a change to claim land.
3: Use a spy and hope he gets made king, then have him turn the province over to you.

4: War with them the offer peace in trade for land.

there are other ways also.

vassalate them, then get a spy to become merchant in the country and arrange annexation.
