Hi all,
Newbie here with some quick questions:

Without mods on, what are the effects of being excommunicated? (And are crusades often called upon you then?)

Does one still accumulate piety as normal?

Can your cleric be chosen as Pope? (And if so, can you call upon him to end the excommunication?)

Are there any changes when playing under the Holy Rome mod? (Unlike with no mods, does your relation with the Pope effect whether he will excommunicate you?)

One more quick question: In the early period is plate armor nonexistent?

Hi :halloha:

1) excomunicated can be attacked by crusades
2) excomunicated has gold penalty
3) excomunicated has normal piety, higher mrale and higher books(no sure about books as I play with HR for too long)
4) your cleric can't become a pope, but you can be excomunicated when your cleric is the pope. You have no chance to force him to accept you back

in HolyRome you have higher books bonus when excomunicated, also morale bnus is higher and gold penalty is lower for excomunicated kingdoms. Rates for probability of crusades are set to be more robable generaly

PS: it is possible to have plate armourer

I've have never had a crusade called upon my when I'm excommuicated but I've seen it happen to AI excomunicated kingdoms.
