I've been playing KoH for a while now and I've developed what I think is the ideal skill set.
Tactics
Strategist
Sword Mastery
Archery Mastery
Leadership
Night Stalker
These are in order, and I will get level 2 in the first four before getting L1 in the last two. Tactics seems to be the most crucial because of the defense bonus awarded for field battles. If I get to L3 on all six I'm usually invincible in the field and nearly so in Assaults.
For unit mix, usually 6 Sword class and 3 Archer class, the best I can create at the time. I find that spear class units are worthless to my tactics. I rarely build Horse units or seige weapons as I don't seem to need them.
I tend to hit cities without Marshalls unless I have no choice. I always use two Marshalls. It's slower but I rarely lose important battles. :biggrin:
