I just wanted to say this game is great but wanted to start a thread about changes people would want to see IF they make KOH 2. Here's some of mine and other peoples ideas:

1. Have a Family Tree. (Found this idea in another thread)
2. Create Dungeon. Instead of keeping a Knight spot empty in your court have a dungeon for captured foes or spies. It could be there on start up or a building choice.
3. Buildings. The ability to build two (or more) buildings in a town at the same time.
4. Builders and Landlords. Seem to be underutilized or not used at all by most people. Make them able to govern more than one province or govern a region/country/empire.
5. Religions:
A. Muslims. Add harems for King to give advantage of more/quicker heirs. (Found this idea in another thread)
B. Orthodox. The morale issue for armies is harsh. No suggestion other than raising morale.
6. Rebels. Frustrating when you have a huge empire having a Marshal running around putting out fires. Give Town Watch or Garrisoned units the ability to attack rebels. Could be cannon fodder to slow rebels down until Marshal arrives. Or morale/experience could be set very low but could increase with victories.
7. Quests. Have quest option as a choice of game; ie: unite England, unite Spain, capture certain region, etc. Once quest is met you win. Good for a shorter game.
8. Sea Battles. Since you have no control over them either remove it or create a Navy option. Or if the Marshal has the Admiral skill he will always win over a non-Admiral skilled Marshal (second suggestion might already exist).

That's all I have for now but I'm sure I'll think of more. Hope others have more or better ideas than mine.

interesting ideas, but I do not believe now for KoH 2.

1.Fortresses:to be able to build a bulwark fortress defend of enemy armies.
2.To be able to build fortfications in a province :huge walls around the provinces.
3.Province tradeing outpost :enables trade between provinces.
4.Food caravans:if your marshal runs out of food you can send him caravan convoys , but the caravans arent safe rebels ,bandits, enemy armies can steal them so they have to be escorted by a province captain.
5.Province captain: localy recuited to defend the province if no marshal is presence . after gaining experience you can choose to promte him to marshal or not.
6.Bandits:small bands of bandits raiding your provinces, decreasing your population happiness more then rebels as bandits will raid with a higher rate and a faster destruction

I dont think there will be a koh2, atleast not in far future.

1. More provinces or better - subprovinces. I think Elvain has already proposed this (or was it Angry?). This means: You're playing, for example, as Bulgaria. You attack south-east towards Constantinople, but don't want to take the Great City due to some reasons. That's why you conquer only the vicinity subprovinces (Adrianople and other smaller cities in the region) and leave the city alone. Or you're negotiating: You can want a whole big province (current provinces) or you could ask only for some of its component subprovinces.
2. Deeper diplomacy: This includes not only an improvement of the current diplomacy (like some puny little kingdom from the other side of the continent declares war on you and then agrees to a peace right away, as it is now), but also depper options. Now you can ask another country to attack a third country. But it would also be good to be able to ask another country to sign peace (etc.) with a third country. This way you could really create protectorates (for your vassals or trading partners etc.), which was a common practice in the Middle Ages.
3. And definitely: Slightly bigger royal court AND much more space for Royal children. In those times people were like rabbits and not like currently in the game - usually having two children.
4. Maybe some events, but not necesary...

1.more villages for production
2. better negotiations :
a. im germeny and my vassal spain is attacked by france i should be able to ask france to stop attacking my vassal
b. to be able to counter offer other kingdoms requests and offers:example-i will give you money if you give me the province of bavaria or i give you money if you attack england.

3. a solid familiy tree : when my king dies the hole familiy shouldint die with him and the only heir be left becomes king. his brothers sisters and mother shouldint disapear but appear on a familiy tree and his brothers should be recuitable for knight service

4. to be able to zoom into the province.

5.bigger cites: there is almost no houses and no people in a province only the buildings youve built. its a city not the kings backdoor.

(these ideas from other members i like)

6. province tradeing outpost :enables trade between provinces

7.Food caravans:if your marshal runs out of food you can send him caravan convoys , but the caravans arent safe rebels ,bandits, enemy armies can steal them so they have to be escorted by a province captain.

8.Province captain: localy recuited to defend the province if no marshal is presence . After gaining experience you can choose to promte him to marshal or not.

9. And definitely: Slightly bigger royal court AND much more space for Royal children. In those times people were like rabbits and not like currently in the game - usually having two children.

10. This way you could really create protectorates (for your vassals or trading partners etc.), which was a common practice in the Middle Ages

11.personalized king and knights: your knights have no personalities only voices . and the kings have only bad described personalities .the king and knights personality draws should have a bad or good effect.

12. extended and greater ai : everyone know what i mean if this only was fixed this game would be even above rome total war.

All of those ideas are fantastic but do you realy think that the creators of the game will go that deap?I'm just saying that they have gone deep enough into KoH 1.Nobody has ever gone that deap as them.If there's a KoH 2 it would be the perfect game ever in any ways!

Hey Tks, how is everthign going?

-Add soemhting like in EUII where you had a max of 6 diplomats and you could negotiate with them, when they where all gone you had to wait for them to come back( or soemthign similar, I hate been able to negotiate with all europe in 20 seconds....)
-Knights like kings should age and die..
-Maybe add something like winter/summer or all 4 seasons.
-add somethign like a 12 minute period=1 full day, then 4-6 of those miutes= night, rest day time, right now it is too random and you can walk all Europe and still doesn't become night.
-make landlords/builders worth using.
Also I would like to see the Koh engien in a similar game but in asia( china, japan ect)

I like the family tree idea, I propossed it once, and the food caravans too

PS:
Almost forgot add a Europe multiplayer map, or add soemhting like uniting kindoms. For exp: Unite england, then all player play in the island of england has east anglia, mercia, york, wales, ect.. and they all most battle to control the entire island and become england. Ofcourse they can use diplomacy to make allis and help eah other, but later in the game the he who was your ally will become your worst enemy   Same can be done with all other kindoms like spain, ottoman empire, france, germany ect...

here is what I think they should add most of which is aestetic:

1. Visible Dates and times of year.... plus seasons.
2. Listing of age for characters instead of just saying they are old.
3. Ability to change a city to your "culture" not just religion. Like changing an arabic city to look europeon when you convert religion for example, could happen through other means.
4. A "historic" mode where the AI plays out and conquers territory historically with scripted events that give you bonuses if you follow history. IE. like on Hearts of Iron 2. Or maybe some kind of storyline, like in Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
5. When you change religion your kingdom units should change. Also visible changes for units built by cities of a different culture. IE. Feudal Knights built in a muslim city should look different than in a christian city.
6. Armies that are not commander by a marshall, or some other way to kill rebels without a marshall.
7. City upgrades that allow you to hold more garrison.
8. Drag selectable armies on the campaign map.
9. An autobuild feature which you can set it to automatically build structures until you can get a certain unit/resource.

edit: 10. Almost forgot, cultural/religious related voice sets.

you guys forgot the most important thing in the world; 3-D! KOH would rock in 3-D and hopefully it would make the battles alot more funner more like Rome:Total war's battles With rome's battles and KOH's diplomacy and AI the game would get nothing less then an 11, 10 aleast

Yes if 3-D is added the game will become more good!

I like the KoH grafics like they are.
2D has a lot of advantages (low system requirements, more detail, more overview, easier navigation, easier usage, more athmosphere...) and I don't want to miss any of these.

Many of these ideas are already in a game.... Crusader Kings!

Crusader Kings is a different kind of game. Though you are right, CK has some aspects that would make KoH a better game, yes.

Oh, I've forgot another thing I'd like, although the game might become too complex this way:
5. Population: Different regions (or provinces) in Europe had different kinds of population. And currently there is no difference between population in different regions as there is no population at all (only those peasant figures, but they're not exactly the same)! In real history, East Europe often fought battles with a lot of men - f.e. the battle of Aheloi with around 150 000 men; or the Arab siege of Constantinople (717-718) with around 100 000 Arabs, at least 30 000 Bulgarians plus the Constantinople garrison. On the other side, West European battles never had such large scale (afaik) - battle of Poatie was with around 13 000 men... Another thing that could be incorporated with population is its deporting. I don't know for West Europe, but here this was a common practice - f.e. Khan Krum invaded and conquered most of Thrace, which was Roman at that time. And he deported tens of thousands of its people beyond the Danube to serve as border garrison. They were Christians, which helped spread Christianity accross the country (so this could be used in some way for culture and religion). Or: from the middle of the Vth century the Balkan provinces of Byzantium were quite oftenly raided by Bulgarians (that hadn't yet created a country), Slavs and others; before them were Goths and Huns. This resulted in a large scale of depopulation of the Balkan provinces. So (I think in VIth century) Byzantium moved most of the ancient population of some of those provinces (Macedonia, Thrace etc. maybe Moesia and parts of Greece) to the safe vicinity of Constantinople. Later Slavs settled the depopulated areas easily without any hard battles (so this could also be used for military purposes). So, all in all, population could have a lot of use, but it could also make the game too deep. I wouldn't mind that, but maybe some would...

About 3-D: If they could make KoH with R:TW batles, it would be just awesome! And with the generals speaches before battles... And real armies of thousands of men, not just 360 max (even West Europeans had bigger armies than that!)... But then the game would become too heavy (higher system requirements; of course, there could be an in-game option: 2D or 3D?...). Besides, BSS would need much more money for such an engine! Not to mention all the work and time for this!

They can always buy the lisence to use the graphics engine from creative assembly and convert knights of honor to rtw graphics . in 2d there is alot of advantages . you can put more then 50000 on one field without lagging , in cossacks2 which is in 2d you can have 64000 men on one field. Yes i agree koh battles would be awesome in rtw style but, 2d is much more favourabile. i agree (west europe must have had more then 360 soldiers  what was bss thinking off:lol:)

No, the purpose of rebels imo is to annoy and destroy, so that you must make choices (or just have a cleric ready at all times and a good tax). So, this would weaken rebels and strengthen a fast conquer through provinces which is less real.

Knights like kings should age and die..
I'd hate that, altough it's realistic. If so, their experience should increase much faster or the life span changed.

you guys forgot the most important thing in the world; 3-D!
This game is already a burden on my pc and hard to run; so preferably not. 3D isn't per definition prettier and probably more complex to work with.

THe rest of the suggs I like, some more than others..

well like conquestare legionare said they could buy an Engine there are many out there to work on. the isometric view or 2-D is limited and has it challanges like how you cant see behind the castle/walls and when defending how sometimes units wil cross "planes" I.E. they will be on the ground then magically float up to the wall without you telling them to. Doux; maybe a new comp is in store for you dude in this day an age you can get good comps for only 500(american dallors) or even less. 3-D would offer more realism to the game and more beauty and maybe this time Moats will appear and add to the tactical gameplay. 3-D would make the sieges way more funner as of KOH they are boring as hell and the AI has it flaws with sieging. If you guys look at the games that are coming out for the Xbox 360 and how surreal they look, 2-D in this age and day is about dead.

From another thread:
Canute
While on that topic, I wish there was a rhyme or reason to the list of recruitable soldiers. Alphabetical, by attack type, by cost.... some sort of way to help you pick out the unit you like without floating you mouse over all the tiny icons. Perhaps filters that would display only archers, or infantry or mounted units. It doesn't seem like it would take much to make this far more intuitive.

I would miss my highly trained Knights but it would be more realistic so I'm for it. Marshals would die faster than Merchants or Clerics, etc...Lifestyle choice is a b*tch.

I don't mind the 2D but even though Stronghold 2 wasn't a great game the 3D sure looked good. Could be the engine of choice.

The Captain of the Guards/Garrison Captain idea sounds good too. Could be used for slowing down rebels, ferrying troops to your far away Marshal, fighting bandits?...

I still like my Dungeon idea the best, mostly for the realism. If you captured an enemy Spy or General would you keep him in your court? No - you'd throw him in the Dungeon. So it has two advantages - frees up a court seat and is more realistic.

I like Canute's filter idea too.

The most important thing:
Europe mode MULTIPLAYER!!! That would rock.

NOOOO, no 3d, no RTw graphic engieng. The game is beutifull as it is. I don't get why many people think that 3d will look better, and sadly many companys are making their games 3d now when they don't need it. Look at LOTR3, that game was horrible, the previews versions were better. The way Koh looks now is just fine, why 3D? just to zoom in and see a bunch of clone soldiers fighting each other?
Also during mid ages most army didn't even go over 5,000,was way to costly and most of the time soldiers didnt even had an armor.

Also I wanted to add to my wishlist, random events like  plague, festivals and the suchs
