Hi...

I just read the FAQ again (always a good idea) and found this:
For what platforms/OS’s will the game be available?
At this time Knights of Honor is planned for the WINDOWS™ PC only.

"At this time"? Not sure yet?
Later Linux patch?

Linux patch,

Seriously, how many people actually run linux as their primary OS without having either Windows installed on the same machine or on another machine at the same place?

Also, those that are running linux will probably have enough knowledge to run something like VMware, Win4Lin, Wine, or WinToNet.

Or you could just as well install Lindows.

When a game is planned to run under SDL and with openGL-GFX it's a snap to recompile it under Linux. Then you only need 5mb of webspace and you're done.
And because openGL is better than DirectX ( :D ) and SDL is as easy to use as the windows-libraries there is no problem in development for linux.
It's just a matter of "Do we want to please our customers?" or "You dare to suggest something? Go away!".

I ran only Linux for a atleast a year, and without even having X installed. Needless to say, I didn't play any games.

Installing more than one OS on a machine is a henious sin.

I know that too. I just wanted to know why they wrote this "At this time".

A Linux version would be new to me. We dont have any in our schedule or the works.

I am sorry to disappoint you...

I didn't ask for a linux patch. I'm just curious what you are trying to hide behind this "At this time"-statement.

I got some questions for the Dev's about requirments and OS:

How much ram is the lowest they think the game needs?
How much video Ram?
The lowest OS that game can run on?
Slowest modem we can use to run multiplayer on?
Does it require Direct 3D, Direct X, Or other in order to run game or cinematics?
How fast a CD rom needed?
What screen resolution can it run on? 800x600 etc...
Hard drive space?? less than 500megs, less than 1gig, more than 1 gig?

DX 9.0-support in wine is a bit fuzzy, you know...
That's why I would like every lower DirectX-version ;) .
(BTW: If you don't use the DX-9.0-specific features like Pixelshader 2.0 etc. switching to DX 9.0 doesn't give any performance-boost)

as you can think they have an eye of the current standart not on the "will be satndart in some years" you can imagine that 14" and 15" dispalys are out of the market,... so i think still a lot of people (including me) are using a 17" display (an "normal" one not a tft)
its saveing place and is not that expensive like a 21" tft display.
so for the most 1024x768x32 will be ok for the most people
