Independent church

I am trying to achieve an indepentent church from Byzantium, but i dont get how the ... is that done..........
Please help me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How should i declare independence????

Click on the piety button (the cross, near the money indicator) and there you'll see several options for changing religion and declaring independent church. But note that it requires quite an ammount of resource to do so!

A five star non-royal cleric is the most basic need. Patriarchs age so another cleric would be needed to succeed him.
