increase the books maximum

I want to remove nostalgia from one of my provbinces with a cleric. Unfortunately i hav to pay 1500 books, but my number of books only increases to the max of 1000 (as piety). How can i increase the maximum of books?

you can't increase it. You probably play some older version of Holy Rome or Glory of God mod.

I'd recomend you either to use newer versions of those mods or, if you like it as it is:
you have to wait untill the nostalgy drops itself. For this you need to be at peace fort some time. The peace means you are at war with NO KINGDOM. Then when the nostalgy drops you can kill it

It's also possible that one of your clerics is a spy from another country. When this is true, he could have raised the nostalgy in your provinces.

either you use a mod or it is a bug.

Foreign spy as cleric can't do such things. He can either steal you the province he governs or convert ot to some other religion, but he can't disable adoption by increasing kill nostalgy cost

Actually, I've had instances where I my Spy Cleric could:
-Spread my culture in foreign lands (for 100 books or so)
-Spread nostalgia in all border provinces.

I'm assuming the first makes them have rebels from my kingdom/increases the nostalgia; while the second makes them have rebels from their original kingdom/increases their nostalgia.

I used the second option against Muscovy, and when their king died, seven of his border provinces became one-province kingdoms.

Not sure about books being higher than 1,000 though.

yes, these are possibilities for clerics, but nowhere is "disable to adopt province by increasing the limit over 1000 books" :wink:

But if you just conquered a realm, and the spy spreads nostalgia, the nostalgia may increase up to -15. So you would need 1500 books to adopt the realm. I already had this problem, so I know what I'm talking about.

Are you sure it's not -10 Nostalgia and -5 Exhausted due to War?

in the game scripts there is that max nostalgia is 10 that's all I can say

I had the same problem, and i use 1.03 patch and GoG 1.6
