I just made a map in the map editor of AoE 1 and in the biggest map there it took a villager exactly 2.40 minutes to walk from corner to corner.. So i think the map is quite big if it should take an army 26 minutes to march from corner to corner :D
 for a good game

It's really nice to know that the maps will be so HUGE - i thought that a map which took 26 min. to cross was huge.

This game just seem to grow by the...................no, by the minute :D

Will the "40+ minute" map be available for human vs human Deathmatch?

The multiplayer only features close-view battles. So no 40+ minutes, more like 2.

im wondering if they just made the map larger or fixed the speed of the marching army? hoping for bigger map :D

I think they did both.
On the newer screenshots they included a part of northern africa...

cool with africa :) but i don't hope that they slowed down the speed, coz it'll just be boring with them marching too slow

People. yeah yeah great the map will be large- but determing how big something is by how LONG it takes something to move from one side to another does NOT tell you hw actually large it is- UNLESS both ocjects move at the same speed...

All one would have to do is slow army movement down to a slug-like crawl and say- it takes TWO DAYS to cross the map, and the map could be smaller than you may think...

Speed is not length unless speed is constant.

But I'm sure KoH will have a map that not lonly lokos large but takes awhile to travel across.

Tell one portugese knight to bring is army up to moskau.
I think 40 minutes is a really good value.

can you speed up the game? cuz if my main army is in Constantinopole and i need to defend France from the British... thats 15 minutes of waiting right there.

How would speeding up the game help you?

If you're army is in constantinople and you need them in France you don't deserve to be king... whoever's marching on france deserves to be king! :)

Seriously that would take months of travel in the middle ages... and a lot of planning just to supply them on the move- buy food for ships or wagon train it? How to pay for it- bank account through the fugar's (or medici?) or cash at hand supplied to the commander... all those things mean it SHOULD take time to move your men.

It's not like that nothing happens during your reign.
You don't send troops and wait for them to arrive.
There's always something hapening in KoH.

"how the heck will i reinforce my troops in my invasion of england"
There'll be transport-ships so you can send additional troops there. If you didn't plan good enough you might have to stop your invasion and wait for reinforcements.
Logistic was one of the major problems in all wars.
