I was wondering by Royal Guards do you mean the King's Elite Guards who are very well skilled and 100% loyal?

And if not is there something like the King's elite troops?

Royal Guards are the ones who protect the King's property.

A king has his own guards (on horse) and so does a marshal.

Something like this - Knight and Knights' Own Guards -

Thanks for the quick reply!

If this is the case, then it means that these guys who's supposed to be loyal also will flee the battlefield if the opposition is too strong or...

IMHO, they should stick with their leader to the end.

I think so too, don't these Knights make an oath that they will protect the leader with there life?

IMHO (explain please -> something like - In my 'honest' opinion - ?)

How we can use these guards. I mean do they form one squad with the king or they are in adifferent squad so rhey can do something different things than just protecting the boss.

A bit a stupid question, why is it in English Royal Guard and in german only Wache = Guard?

Maybe it because the devs think that a German better undestands the meaning of a Wache than the meaning of a royal guard ;)

On my knowledge they are a squad with the king.

As I know the best knights and king guards were named Landsknecht - the elite of warriors. And as I think this word is taken from Gemany or Dutch so I don't know from what is the name Wache Guard ?

Frank Fay

Well the word "wache" means actually "guard".

But "Wache" does not mean "royal guard".
(That is what he ment.)

landsknechte was the name of mostly german mercenaries in the time of the change middleage to modern times. )more modern times than medieaval.)

they were no knights and no special king guards.
