I'm interested, because all the stone curtain walls I've seen in screenshots so far have had wooden battlements. Will we get stone battlements as well?:)

Of course!

Is it just the early Middle Ages where we have wooden battlements?

P.S. I'm glad that we do get 100% stone walls... but half stone, half wooden walls is an original idea for a game and I like it.

No not only the Early Middle Ages. In the two later periods the Realms are more advanced and the average number of Stone / Stone - Wood castles are higher than pure wood. However, if you are poor King, then a Wood castle has to do the job :D

Could one attacking a wooden castle simply burn it down?

Flaming arrows ought to do the trick for that. Then stand back and watch the guys inside sizzle!:dwink:

Stronghold had crenulated walls, which could be placed agacent to the wallwalk. That's basically what a battlement is.
