Okay, first off, let me say that the news of a second patch kind of strikes my suspicious nature. Why spend thousands of pounds patching a game very few people play and fewer are buying? They had their chance to make a patch last year and didn't. To me, it smells more like damage control to stop the crusade against them from affecting sales of their games currently in production.

I could be wrong. Very likely I am. But right now, my boloney meter is going off.

Be that as it may, I also have to ask this question:

Since so much time has passed, would it not be better for them to develop KOH2 rather than spend resources on a patch to a game that has had its day?

There's no question they have learned a lot. (Especially how not to treat their customers.) With Medieval 2: Total War about to come out, they can also see what cutting-edge technolegy is. And with all the feedback they got for the original KOH, don't yo uthink a KOH2 would be a light-year's improvement on the grand scale that Lords of the Realm 2 was over Lords 1. (In case Sunflowers doesn't get the refernece, Lords of the Realm 2 is the standard bearer for medieval games. Seven years later, it is still widely considered to be very playable.)

I think money would be better spent making KOH2 rather than a patch that, sadly, very few people will ever use.

The problem is that making a whole new game would cost *slightly* more money and time than a patch. :P

However, a second patch will likely generate no new income while KOH2 has great sales potential.

Yes, but BSS are busy on their contracts for the other games. And another company would just make another KoH, not our one...

Koh have his own charm and grafikstyle. Koh need only a good patch. I have the game Rome ( last time i buy the big box with all totalwar games ) and i will buying the game Medieval II ,but the game Koh is only the ONE ,that i playing a long time. Multiplayer i missing in the Koh game, perhaps this can make for Koh. A new KOH2 cost many millions Euro. World of Warcraft have his own charm and grafikstyle and many millions of people play this game. Everquest2 have the best grafik , but not so much people play this game.
World of warcraft and Koh can you play on the laptop, but you cant play Everquest or KOH2 on the laptop. Many people have not a powerful pc and it cost all money for the user to upgrade his pc or buy a new system. The point is: Make a good patch for KOH and if this possible open in this game a good multiplayer.
By the way, the time will not stop, so you will not for ever play koh. Many new games come out.
