Okay, first off, let me say that the news of a second patch kind of strikes my suspicious nature. Why spend thousands of pounds patching a game very few people play and fewer are buying? They had their chance to make a patch last year and didn't. To me, it smells more like damage control to stop the crusade against them from affecting sales of their games currently in production.
I could be wrong. Very likely I am. But right now, my boloney meter is going off.
Be that as it may, I also have to ask this question:
Since so much time has passed, would it not be better for them to develop KOH2 rather than spend resources on a patch to a game that has had its day?
There's no question they have learned a lot. (Especially how not to treat their customers.) With Medieval 2: Total War about to come out, they can also see what cutting-edge technolegy is. And with all the feedback they got for the original KOH, don't yo uthink a KOH2 would be a light-year's improvement on the grand scale that Lords of the Realm 2 was over Lords 1. (In case Sunflowers doesn't get the refernece, Lords of the Realm 2 is the standard bearer for medieval games. Seven years later, it is still widely considered to be very playable.)
I think money would be better spent making KOH2 rather than a patch that, sadly, very few people will ever use.
